it’s about time

Thursday, March 30th, 2006

I often consider myself an early adopter of things. I like to try them out and play around. If it’s good (like my phone), it sticks around. If it doesn’t – either it was my personality that didn’t mesh with it, or it was crap.

One thing I never tried was this whole journal/blogging thing. I saw what other people were doing and for so many years it came off as some adolescent, self-indulgent exhibitionism. Sure there were a few that were interesting and thought provoking, but it’s always been kind of like figure skating: they make it look so easy to do, when that kind of thought organization, brevity, and appropriateness takes some skill, some talent, and most importantly stuff to talk about!

I think it’s finally time I jump on the bandwagon.

I’ve seen some great examples of thought-provoking blogs lately. I’ve also been playing with it as a decision-journaling tool at work, and I think it’s something that can really improve my life. There’s stuff I’d like people to see, and I think there’s a strong thought community out there that I believe I should be a part of.

So, here I come!
